Damodar Valley Project also called DVC (Damodar Valley Corporation) is multipurpose river valley project is an example of earliest regional planning exercise in India. It is a government organisation which operates several power stations in the Damodar River area of West Bengal and Jharkhand states of India. It operates both thermal power stations and hydel power stations under the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
