Croatia's first female President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic was sworn-in on February 15,2015 . She is Croatia's fourth President since its independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. In January 2015 election run-off, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic had narrowly defeated her left-wing predecessor Ivo Josipovic.
