What is the current supplied by the battery in the circuit shown below? Each resistance used in circuit is of 1 kQ and potential difference

Solution:

Resistance between arm AB,

R_\text "net AB"=1/5Ω=1000/5Ω

Resistance between arm BC,

R_\text "net BC"=1/3KΩ=1000/3Ω

So,

R_\text"net"=R_\text "net AB"+R_\text "net BC"

We get,

R_\text "net"=1000/5+1000/3

R_\text "net"=8000/15Ω

According to ohm’s law, V= IR

I={8×15}/8000=15mA
