From the momentum conservation at time of collision

m√{{gH}/2}-m√{{gH}/2}=2mv_f

v_f=0

T.E_f=mgH+1/2×m×(√{2gH})^2

T.E_f=2mgH

TE_f=(2m){3H}/4×g={3mgH}/2

So, loss in energy will he given as :

ΔE=1/2mgH
