If the reflected and the refracted rays are perpendicular to each other and the ratio of the refractive indices of denser and rarer medium is 3, the angle of refraction will be

Validate

Solution:

\i+\r=90°

\µ_\d/\µ_\r={\sin \i}/{\sin \r}

√3=\µ_\d/\µ_\r={\sin \i}/{\sin (90-\i)}

√3=\tan \i

\i=60°

∴

\r=30°

So the angle of refraction is 30°
