From option (1), $\mathrm{y}=5\mathrm{x}+1$
$\frac{5\mathit{a}+1}{2}=5\left(\frac{\mathrm{a}+3}{2}\right)+1$
$\frac{5\mathit{a}+1}{2}\ne \left(\frac{5\mathrm{a}+15+2}{2}\right)$
∴ Option (a) is not correct.
From option (b), $\mathrm{y}=5\mathrm{x}-7$
$\frac{5\mathrm{a}+1}{2}=5\frac{\left(\mathrm{a}+3\right)}{2}-7$
$=\frac{5\mathrm{a}+15-14}{2}$
Hence M must lie on the line represented by $\mathrm{y}=5\mathrm{x}-7$
∴ Option (b) is correct.
