In a family of four members there is father, mother, son and daughter. When sorted according to decreasing order of their ages, the order is father, mother, son and daughter. The difference between the age of father and mother is 5 years. The difference between total age of male members and female members is 15 years. Also, the total age of children is 20 years, then the age of the son is________.

Given
F > M > S > D
F - M = 5 ...(i)
(F + S) - (M + D) = 15...(ii)
S + D = 20 ...(iii)
On solving (i) & (ii)
F - M + S - D = 15
5 + S - D = 15
S - D= 10 ...(iv)
On adding (iii) & (iv)
S + D = 20 + S - D = 10

2S=30

S=15

Age of son = 15 years.
