x is an integer such that it leaves a remainder of 2 when divided by 3, leaves a remainder of 3 when divided by 5, and leaves a remainder of 5 when divided by 7. What could be a possible value of x from among the following options?

Solution:

According to the given questions, the number is

\x=3\P_1+2

Also,

\x=5\P_1+2

and

\x=7\P_3+5

From above

\x=3\P_1+2=5\P_2+3=7\P_3+5

⇒ On solving we get

\P_1=22,\P_2=13,\P_3=?

so the solution is

\x = 68.
