Solution:

We have,

\tan={7π}/8

=\tan(π-\;\;{π}/{8})=-\tan\;\;{π}/{8}=-(\;\;{1-\cos\;\;{π}/{4}}/{\sin\;\;{π}/{4}})

⇒-\tan\;\;{π}/{8}=-(\;\;{1-\;\;{1}/{√{2}}}/{{1}/{√{2}}})=1-√{2}
