Let the present ages of Parag and Sapna be $21\mathit{x}$ yr and $19\mathit{x}$ yr, respectively.
6 yr ago,
Parag's age $=21\mathit{x}-6$ yr
Sapna's age $=19\mathit{x}-6$ yr
Now, according to the question.
$\frac{21\mathit{x}-6}{19\mathit{x}-6}=\frac{9}{8}$
$168\mathit{x}-48=171\mathit{x}-54$
$\Rightarrow 171\mathit{x}-168\mathit{x}=54-48$
$\Rightarrow 3\mathit{x}=6$
$\therefore \mathit{x}=2$
Sapna's present age $=19\times 2=38\mathit{y}\mathit{r}$
∴ Lina's age $=38-12=26\mathit{y}\mathit{r}$
