Solution:

Let the monthly income of

, respectively.
According to the question.

\;{9 x-500}/{8 x-500}=\;{8}/{7}

⇒ \;\; 63 x-3500=64 x-4000

⇒ \;\; 4000-3500=64 x-63 x

⇒ \;\; x=500

∴

A's income

=9 × 500=₹ 4500
