The average of six numbers is

If each of the first three numbers is increased by 2 and each of the remaining three numbers is decreased by 4 , then the new average is

Solution:

Given average of 5 number

=32

Sum of six numbers

=6 × 32=192

Increased in sum due to first three numbers

=2 × 3=6

Decrease in sum due to remaining three numbers

=3 × 4=12

∴

New average

=\;{192+6-12}/{6}=31
