Solution:

∵ Distance between two parallel lines

d=|{c_1-c_2}/√{a^2-b^2}|

4x–3y+5=0

⇒4x-3y=-5

4x–3y–2=0

⇒4x–3y=2

Hence

c_1=-5

and

c_2=2

∴d=|{-5-2}/√{(4^2)+(3)^2}|

=

|{-7}/√{16+9}|

=|{-7}/5|=7/5
