Three natural numbers are in the ratio 2 : 3 : 4. If the sum of squares of these numbers is 116, then determine the numbers.

Solution:

Let numbers are 2x, 3x and 4x.
According to the question,

(2x)^{2}+(3x)^{2}+(4x)^{2}=116

4x^{2}+9x^{2}+16x^{2}=116

x^{2}=\;\;{116}/{29}=4

x=2

Hence, three numbers are & 4,6
