Two numbers are in the ratio of 4 : 5. If the larger number is 15 more than the smaller number, find the product of the numbers.

Solution:

Let, two numbers are 4x and 5x; then

5x–4x=15

⇒x=15

Thus, product of two numbers

=4x×5x=20×(15)2

=20×225=4500
