Solution:

Let the cost price be

.

∴

Marked price

=125

For a profit of

12 \;{1}/{2} \%,

selling price

=100+\;{25}/{2}=112.5

∴

Discount percentage

=\;{125-112.5}/{125} × 100=\;{12.5}/{125} × 100=10 \%
