Two types of tea costing

and

₹ 280{/} {kg}

should be mixed in the ratio so that the mixture obtained, sold at

₹ 320 {/} {kg}

to earn a profit of

20 \%

Solution:

Given, selling price of tea

=₹ 320 {/} {kg}

\;\text " and "\; & \;\text " profit "\;=20 \%

∴ Cost price of tea

=\;{\;\text " Selling price "\; × 100}/{(100+\;\text " profit "\; \%)}

=\;{320 × 100}/{120}=\;{3200}/{12}=₹ \;{800}/{3}

Now, according to the rule of mixture,

∴

Required average

=280-\;{800}/{3}: \;{800}/{3}-180

=\;{40}/{3}: \;{260}/{3}=2: 13
