Solution:

Let the length of train

=x {m}

When the train crosses man, then Speed

=\;{x}/{8}

When the train crosses platform, then Speed

=\;{x+264}/{20}

∵

Speed of train is same throughtout.

∴ \;\; \;{x}/{8}=\;{x+264}/{20}

⇒ \;\; 20 x=8 x+2112

⇒ \;\; 12 x=2112

∴ \;\; x=\;{2112}/{12}=176 {m}{/ } {s}
