Two numbers are in the ratio of 4 : 5. If the larger number is 15 more than the smaller number, find the product of the numbers.

Solution:

Let, the numbers are in x ratios.
According to the question,

⇒5x–4x=15

⇒x=15

∴ Larger number

=5×15=75

Smaller number

=4×15=60

∴ Product of the numbers

=75×60=4500
