Divide₹ 671 among A, B, C such that if their shares be increased by ` 3, ₹ 7 and ₹ 9 respectively, the remainder shall be in the ratio 1 : 2 : 3.

Solution:

The total sum after increment

671+3+7+9=₹690

∴ A’s increased share

=690×1/6=115

B’s increased share

=690×2/6=230

C’s increased share

=690×3/6=345

Hence,
A’s actual share

=115–3=112

B’s actual share

=230–7=223

C’s actual share

=345–9=336
