If there are shortcomings in you, do not try to conceal them; if they are revealed before others, allow them to be thoroughly revealed. But certainly attempt to hide your virtues. Feel abashed through humility when your virtues are revealed before others. Avoid advertising your own virtues. If you can’t restrain yourself from looking at others, try to see only their virtues, their good deeds, their good disposition and manners.
