Solution:

Let, the number

=10x+y

, and

x+y=16

...(i)

10x+y–(10y+x)=18

⇒9x–9y=18

⇒x–y=2

...(ii)
Solving equations (i) an (ii) we get

x=9

and

y=7

Thus, number

=10×9+7=97
