. If the sum of these two numbers is 450, find the numbers.

Solution:

Let, two numbers are 8x and 7x respectively, then

8x+7x=450

⇒15x=450

⇒x=30

Thus, two numbers are:

8x=8×30=240

7x=7×30=210
