A shopkeeper bought 150 calculators at the rate of Rs. 250 per calcutator. He spent Rs. 2500 on transportation and packing. If the marked price of the calculator is Rs. 320 per calculator and the shopkeeper gives a discount of 5% on the marked price, then what will be the percentage profit agained by the shopkeeper?

Solution:

C.P. of 150 calculators

=150×Rs.250

=\Rs.37,500

Other expenses

=\Rs.2500

Since, net C.P. of 150 calculators

=37500+2500

=\Rs.40,000

Hence, net C.P. of one calculator

={40,000}/150\Rs.{800}/3

S.P. of one calculator

=320-5/100×320

=\Rs.304

Profit for one calculator

=304-800/3

=\Rs.{112}/3

Now, profit %

=112/3×3/800×100=14%
