The average age of A and B is 20 years. If C were take place A, the average would be 19 and if C were to replace B, the average would be 21. what were the ages (in yrs.) of A, B and C?

Validate

Solution:

\;\;{A+B}/{2}=20∴A+B=40

....(i)

\;\;{B+C}/{2}=19∴B+C=38

...(ii)

\;\;{A+C}/{2}=21∴A+C=42

...(iii)
On adding all the three equations are get,

A+B+C=60

...(iv)
From these equations, we get

A=22,B=18,C=20

Since, their ages are 22 years, 18 years and 20 years respectively
