I. Height of the triangle is three-fourth of the base.
II. Hypotenuse of the triangle is 5 metres.

If the data in Statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in Statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

Validate

Solution:

(5) From statements I and II, Let the base of the triangle bex meter.
∴ Height

= {3x}/4

meter

√{Base^2+ Height^2 }

= Hypotenuse
⇒

√{x^2+[{3x}/4]^2}=5 ⇒ √{x^2+{9x^2}/16=5}

⇒

√{16x^2+9x^2}/16=5 ⇒ √{{25x^2}/16}=5

⇒

{5x}/4=5 ⇒ x= {4×5}/5=4

∴ Base = 4 meter
and height

={3×4}/4

=3 meter
∴ Area of right angled triangle

=1/2×4×3 =6 m^2
