Solution:

Let Venkat has x ducks and y sheep.
∴ x + y=81
∴ x= 81 -y ...(i)
and 2x + 4y=268
⇒

162-2y+4y=268

2y=268 -162 = 106

⇒

y=106/2=53

∴ Number of sheep = 53
