respectively and the total number of boys and girls are 256 . Find the number of girls.

Solution:

Total number of boys and girls

=256

∴ \;\text " Number of girls "\; \;\; =\;{7}/{(9+7)} × 256

\;\; =\;{7 × 256}/{16}=7 × 16=112
