Speed of boat

=\;{1}/{2}(\;\text " Downstream speed "\;+\;\text " Upstream speed "\;)

=\;{1}/{2}(\;{12}/{1}+\;{8}/{1})

=\;{1}/{2}(12+8)=\;{1}/{2} × 20=10 {km} \/ {h}
