Tropic of Cancer almost divides India into the equal parts. India is situated North of the equator between $8^{\circ }4$ ' North to ${37}^{\circ }{6}^{\prime }$ North Latitude and ${68}^{\circ }7$ ' East to ${97}^{\circ }{25}^{\prime }$ East longitude. Thus, Tropic of Cancer nearly divides India into two parts. Tropic of Cancer passes through 8 states of India. They are-Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Tripura and Mizoram.
