Number of boys = x
Number of girls = 2x
Now, x + 2x = 60
x = 20
2x = 40
Thus, Number of boys in the class = 20
Number of girls in the class = 40
Number of Boys before Kamal
= (17 – 9) – 1 = 7
∴ Number of boys after Kamal
= (20 – 7) – 1
= 12.
