The sides of a triangle are 9 cm, 10 cm, 11 cm. If the smallest side of a similar triangle is 18 cm, what is the perimeter of this triangle?

Solution:

Since Δ ABC ~ Δ DEF
∴

{AB}/{DE}

{BC}/{EF}

{AC}/{DF}

∴

{BC}/{EF}

∴ x = 22 cm, y = 20 cm
Perimeter of Δ DEF = 18 + 22 + 20 = 60 cm
