(D) Under Article 213 of the Constitution of India, the Governor has the power to promulgate ordinances during the recess of Legislature, if circumstances exist, which render it necessary for him to take an immediate action.Article 123 of the Indian Constitution empowers the President to promulgate ordinances during the recess of the Parliament. The maximum validity period of an ordinance is 6 months and 6 weeks.
