(A) The Union Government of India announced the formation of NITI Aayog on 1 January 2015, and the first meeting was held on 8 February 2015.It’s an extra-constitutional, non-statutory and advisory body. It works as an advisory body to give directional and strategic inputs to Union Government and also State governments on request.
