(D) Pradhan Mantri Bharat Jodo Pariyojana (PMBJP) is related to the development of highways. The PMBJP earlier referred to as ‘High-Density Corridor Improvement Project’,announced in the 2003–04 budget and aims at connecting the high traffic density stretches, state capitals and tourism centres with the NHDP. The project involves four laning of 10,000 km of roads with private participation, on a Build–operate–transfer (BOT)basis, entailing an investment of about ₹ 40,000 crores.
