(B) The equator passes through 13 countries: Ecuador, Colombia,Brazil, Sao Tome and Principe,Gabon, Republic of the Congo,Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia,Maldives, Indonesia and Kiribati. An equator of a rotating spheroid (such as a planet) is its zeroth circle of latitude(parallel). It is the imaginary line on the spheroid’s surface,equidistant from its poles,dividing it into northern and southern hemispheres.
