(D) Mahendra Rajapaksa is a Sri Lankan politician who is the current Leader of the Opposition and has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Kurunegala since 2015. He served as the President of Sri Lanka and Leader of the SriLanka Freedom Party from 2005 to 2015. Rajapaksa wasfirst elected to the Parliament of Sri Lanka in 1970, and he served as the Prime Minister from 6 April 2004 until his victory in the 2005 presidential election.
