(C) Madhya Pradesh,Maharastra, Orissa, Gujarat,Rajasthan, Jharkhand,Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh,West Bengal and Karnataka are the States have largest number of Scheduled Tribes.These states account for 83.2% of the total Scheduled Tribe population of the country. Madhya Pradesh was the largest tribal state in India before the state of Chhattisgarh was carved out. Dhar, Jhabua and Mandla districts have more than 50 percent tribal population.
