Ebrahim Alkaz was associated with the theatre. He was considered as the Father of modern Indian theatre and served as the first Director of the National School of Drama (NSD). He produced several plays like Girish Karnad's Tughlaq and Dharamvir Bharati's Andha Yug, and many Greek and Shakespearean plays.
