$\frac{12\mathit{x}}{100}$ + $\frac{\left(32000-8\mathit{x}\right)}{100}$ = 4000
$\frac{\left(12\mathit{x}+32000-8\mathit{x}\right)}{100}$ = 4000
4x + 320000 = 400000
4x = 400000 - 320000
x = $\frac{80000}{4}$ = 20000
∴ Harris invested ₹ 20000 in B
