Rajiv Kumar, a 1984 batch Indian Administrative service officer of Jharkhand Cadre, has been appointed the new finance secretary. He succeeded Subhash Chandra Garg. Kumar's appointment is approved by the appointments committee of Cabinet headed by Prime Minister.
