(d) Let total number of students in school be 'x' .
Total number of girls in the school = 100 (given)
∴ x × $\frac{1}{4}$ = 100
⇒ x = 400
Total number of boys in school = 400 - 100 = 300
Total number of students residing in hostel
= $\frac{100}{2}$ + $\left(\frac{1}{3}\times 300\right)$
= 50+ 100 = 150
∴ Fractional part of students who are hostel dwellers
= $\frac{150}{400}=\frac{3}{8}$
