(C) The Foreign Secretary is the administrative head of the Ministry of External Affairs and is the top diplomat for foreign relations. This post is generally held by an IFS Officer of the rank of Secretary to Government of India. The current Foreign Secretary is Vijay Keshav Gokhale.
