According to the question.
Simple interest paid after 2nd year
= $\frac{11}{20}$ x First years simple interest.
⇒ $\frac{\left[\mathit{P}\left(\frac{106}{100}\right)-6800\right]}{100}$ × 5 × 1 = $\frac{11}{20}\times \frac{6\mathit{P}}{100}$
⇒ $\frac{\left(106\mathit{P}-680000\right)\times 5}{100}$ = $\frac{11}{20}$ × 6P
⇒ 106 P - 680000 = 66 P
⇒ 106P - 66P = 680000
⇒ 40 P = 680000
⇒ P = ₹ 17000
∴ Principal amount = ₹ 17000
