₹ 5783 is divided among Ramesh, Shiv and Bhuwan in such a way that if ₹ 28, ₹ 37 and ₹ 18 be deducted from their respective shares, they have money in the ratio 4 : 6 : 9. Find Ramesh’s share,

Solution:

(d ) Let the share of Ramesh, Shiv and Bhuwan be ₹ 4x, ₹ 6x and ₹ 9x after the reduction of money.
Now, according to the question,
Ramesh's actual share = ₹ (4x + 28)
Shiv’s actual share = ₹ [6x + 37)
Bhuwan’s actual share = ₹ (9x + 18)
and their sum = ₹ 5783
∴ 4x + 28 + 6x + 37 + 9x + 18 = 5783
⇒ 4x + 6x + 9x + 28 + 37 + 18 = 5783
⇒ 19x + 83 = 5783
⇒ 19x = 5700
∴ x =

5700/19

= 300
∴ Ramesh share = 4x + 28 = 4 x 300 + 28 ⇒ ₹ 1228
