Concept-

• The Skeleton system consists of a framework of bones, joints, cartilages, etc.
• The Skeleton system of humans has a total of 206 bones.
• The Skeleton system is divided into three parts-
  • Axial skeleton- includes bones of the skull, upper and lower jaws, and vertebral column.
  • Thoracic skeleton- 12 pairs of ribs.
  • Appendicular skeleton- involves the bone of legs and hand, pectoral and pelvic girdle.

Explanation-

• The bone of the forelimb (hand) are followings-
• Arm bone- Humerus, Forearm- Radius, and Ulna, Wrist bones- Carpels, Palm- Metacarpals, Digits- Phalanges.
• The two hands together have 60 bones.

The number of bones in the thumb of the hand is 2.
