Find the value of x in the given figure where PA is parallel to QC

Solution:

Calculation:
Draw a line segment EF which is parallel to PA and passes through the point making angle x and name the angles y and z.

y = 45°

(Alternate interior angles)

z = 30°

(Alternate interior angles)

x + y + z = 360°

(Complete angle)

⇒ x = 360° – z – y

⇒ x = 360° – 30° – 45° = 360° – 75°

∴ x is 285°
