Formula Used-
Probability = (Number of successful outcomes/Total number of outcomes)
=(nE)/(nS), where nE = Number of events and nS = Number of sample space
Calculation-
To get 5 as sum of each value on two dices, possibilities are-
Dice 1 + Dice 2 $=1+4$
Dice 1 + Dice 2 $=2+3$
Dice 1 + Dice 2 $=4+1$
Dice 1 + Dice 2 $=3+2$
i.e Altogether 4 successful events.
Now, the total number of possibilities when two dices are thrown is $6\times 6=36$
∴ Probability of getting 5 as sum of values on each dice $=4/36$
