$\Rightarrow 5=\left(5\mathit{x}+4\mathit{x}\right)/50\Rightarrow 5=9\mathit{x}/50$
$\Rightarrow \mathit{x}=5\times 50/9$ km
$\Rightarrow \mathit{x}=250/9$ km
∴ Distance covered between school and home for A is $250/9$ km.
