Solution:

{x-2}/4+{x-4}/6={x-6}/8+x/2

⇒{6(x-2)+4(x-4)}/3={2(x-6)+8x}/2

⇒2[6x-12+4x-16]=6x-36+24x

⇒12x-24+8x-32=6x-36+24x

⇒20x-56=30x-36

⇒(30x-20x)=-20

⇒10x=-20

⇒x=-2
